Safeguarding

Effective from: July 2026

At STUCKHUB, the safety and wellbeing of every child is my highest priority. Every child has the right to feel safe, respected and listened to throughout the assessment process.

As an independent educational assessor, I recognise that safeguarding is everyone's responsibility. I am committed to acting at all times in the best interests of the child and follow current UK safeguarding legislation and statutory guidance, including Working Together to Safeguard Children and Keeping Children Safe in Education.

Assessment Environment

Wherever possible, assessments are carried out in the child's school, where staff are nearby and the environment is familiar.

Where this is not possible, assessments may take place at STUCKHUB or, in exceptional circumstances, in the child's home by prior agreement.

All assessments are completed on a one-to-one basis, as this is essential to ensure valid and reliable assessment outcomes.

Where assessments take place at STUCKHUB, they are carried out in a dedicated assessment room. Parents or carers are not present in the assessment room during the assessment, as their presence may influence the child's performance. However, they are welcome to remain elsewhere on the premises throughout the assessment if they wish. Alternative arrangements can be made where medical or additional support needs require this.

Safeguarding Concerns

If, during an assessment, I become concerned about a child's safety or wellbeing, or if a child makes a safeguarding disclosure, I have a professional duty to act.

Any safeguarding concerns will be recorded and reported to the appropriate safeguarding lead or Local Authority Children's Services in accordance with current safeguarding procedures. The welfare of the child will always take priority.
